Joan Burstein is a fashion legend, the first person to sell clothes by everyone from Ralph Lauren to John Galliano at her boutique Browns. Now her son Simon has set up a store of his own, The Place London.

The London-based designer Alice Archer is in the third season of her fashion brand, which focuses on heavily embroidered women’s wear. When T visits her in her studio, she is embroidering sweetpeas onto a scarf that will be sold at Fortnum & Mason in London.
